By Mary Kay Doktorski

Our first public performance! On Saturday, August 17, 2002, my husband Henry and I provided music for the wedding ceremony of my brother Robert Welter and his bride Deborah Boyum. The ceremony, which was attended by about fifty people, took place in the garden behind Bob's house near Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The weather was beautiful and so was our music! Henry played several solos, including prelude music such as Handel's Pastoral Symphony from Messiah, Bach's Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, and the recessional Wedding March by Mendelssohn. I joined my husband for the processional music, Wagner's Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin, as Deb processed down the grassy aisle.

Deb said, "Your music was so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes. It really made my day!"
