July 18-24, 1974: Prabhupada's third visit; sees Palace-Under-Construction and states: "These devotees are my jewels."
Prabhupada tells Kirtanananda: "Develop New Vrindaban to your heart's content."
1974: NV residents worship Kirtanananda with Prabhupada’s approval. Adwaitacharya dasa explained, “When Shrila Prabhupada visited New Vrindaban in 1974, one woman charged that the devotees in New Vrindaban were in maya. ‘They worship Kirtanananda Swami. They even have a picture of him on the step of Shrila Prabhupada’s vyasasan!’ Shrila Prabhupada countered, smiling, ‘If he is saying what I am saying, then what is the difference?’”
December 1974: The first Christmas Marathon
GBC members criticize Kirtanananda's "Folly" as "impractical."
Prabhupada defends Kirtanananda: "There is no limit to how much one may spend for the spiritual master. There is no question of practicality in this regard, rather it is a question of love.”
1976: NV Gurukula moves into new quarters--Nandagram School farmhouse behind Sony Niebergall's pig farm
March 2, 1976: New Vrindaban quarantined by West Virginia governor after hepatitis outbreak.
June 21 to July 2, 1976: During Prabhupada's fourth visit he states: "I am already living here" [in my palace].
November 14, 1977: Prabhupada leaves the planet.
Spring-Summer 1979: The palace marathon.
September 2, 1979: The grand opening of Prabhupada's Palace.
